Based in Port St. Lucie, Florida, Homeowners Choice received its Certificate of Authority from the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation on May 10 2007. It has been approved by the Board of Directors of Citizens Property & Casualty Insurance Company to assume up to 20,000 policies commencing July 19 2007.

Homeowners Choice is a financially sound homeowner insurance company. It has been given a Demotech Financial Stability Rating of A (Exceptional).

The Company has effected an assumption of approximately 7,000 Citizens policies and is planning another assumption of 10,000 policies in November. A voluntary program will also be rolled-out, commencing November 2007. Agency appointments will be available to both our limited appointment agents and new agents.

Homeowners Choice is presently writing residential, dwelling fire, tenants and condo owners policies. Our target coverage A values range between $250k and $ 1MM. In due course, we will be adding private passenger auto, flood and umbrella products to our list of customer services.

The Company has a comprehensive and substantial reinsurance program in place protecting its policyholder surplus in the event of major catastrophe.
